Veiled Fate Launch Day Livestream

I was honored to join the IV Studio team and special guests during their Kickstarter launch day to play an epic seven-player game of Veiled Fate. As I’ve stated before, I’m not a social deduction fan, but Veiled Fate is the second game this year (the other being The Search for Planet X) that has me re-thinking my tastes in games. I’d call it a strategic board game with a social deduction layer that is absolute blast to play.

Rolling With Ruel: Unboxing Tuesday

Rolling With Ruel is my livestream on Twitch that falls outside of what I’m doing with Tabletop Tonight. It’s usually on the weekends when I’m solo-ing games, but this week I decided to add game unboxings to the mix. I wasn’t sure if I’d like doing this, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. I got to share a few games that viewers might not have gotten yet and we all just hung out virtually as I opened up five new games. Check out the replay below:

Wardlings of River’s Hollow

Earlier this year I played in a game of Fiasco, thanks to Chris Whitpan at Game All Night. It was the first time I’d played an RPG in years (decades?) and that game re-kindled my interest in RPGs and I soon joined my friend Oscar’s D&D campaign. Unfortunately, I had to drop out of Oscar’s game (I miss my Bugbear!) due to time constraints, but as the saying goes, when one door closes, another door opens.

I’m ecstatic about playing in the Wardlings RPG over on Renegade Game Studios’ channel. Not only do we have a world-class GM in Victoria Rogers, but the entire Renegade crew is top-notch talent: Victor, Heidi, and Irene are wonderful people to work with and I can’t wait to see how our adventures play out.

In Wardlings, our characters are children who are attuned to magic powers that adults no longer remember. We held our Session 0 yesterday, where we set the parameters of our game and introduced our characters. I’m thrilled to be playing Em’Tarru Understar, a Midbari Rogue. Watch us here:

And if you’d like to see me play Fiasco, here’s our game. I had the best time with Chris Whitpan, Paula Deming, Mandi Hutchinson, Joe Sondow, and Victor Schwartzmiller.

Pass the Board Game Challenge

It feels like years ago, but the Pass the Board Game Challenge was published just last month! Thanks again to Danny for including me and for putting together such a fun video. It was nice seeing so many terrific people from the board game industry get together via the Internet to share our love of gaming.

Santa Monica Live Play Through

I’m now live streaming to Twitch and Facebook Live concurrently. I solo-ed Paperback last night and tonight we played the new game from AEG, Santa Monica. Michelle and I really liked this one: it’s got a neat little spatial element to it, where you’re trying to line up icons in the right place as well as get your meeples to their respective spots. Here’s the replay from Facebook Live:
